3 D Quilling in a glass

Hellooooooooo.....It's been long since I posted on my blog. I was busy with Diwali and a wedding of my cousin.

Few weeks back my friend Gayatri had gone to Crosswords to buy some books where she came across a hawker selling clay and glass items. She bought few of these glasses (like shot glasses) and we had fun discussing ideas so that we could put them to some use. We thought of quilling on the outer surface since we keep trying on different bases. Finally, this is how I made miniatures and stuck them to a cardboard base. This definitely has multiple uses.

                Hope you like them.

Quilling on Styrofoam plate

It was long back I posted something on my blog. Today on the eve  of our third wedding anniversary  I decided to write about my new creation. After all,

“A successful marriage requires falling in 'LOVE' many times, always with the same person.”

Phew!!! No more philosophy classes...Back to work now... :)

While cleaning my kitchen cabinet sometime back I found few styrofoam plates . Just thought of using  this as a base to quill something on it. I have used beehive technique to fill the circle . The effect... as if I have painted the centre...
Quilling alphabets and numbers is something I' m still learning. The letters don't look that perfect since I did not use a computer print out. Well, will keep trying quillography till I succeed!!!  A small heart within the letter "O" has helped the letters look a little better!

 Hope you like it.

Quilled Cards

I had some simple card paper in yellow, black, green and blue at home. So, made few cards using quilled motifs along with kundans ( coloured stones ). It was fun making them. I know the cards would have looked better with a good quality card-stock....

Well, the next attempt would be with new card stock...definitely !!! Hope you like these...

Quilled Dolls........

I am always excited while trying 3-D stuff. Your imagination is what helps making these cute little things. I made few dolls with different hair and used scraps of paper strips to embellish their dresses. Fixing those little bits of paper was a bit tiresome... but it was fun as well!

Quilled Frame

My friend Gayatri had a piece of cloth (blouse piece as we call it here) which she glued to a cardboard using a masking tape. The cardboard was a waste from the packing of her husbands new shirt. She made the frame and we  quilled motifs randomly and stuck them with white glue as an experiment. It turned out pretty well. We would be using it for display at our exhibition.

Sorry for the poor quality of the pic.

Better light here!

Quilled Photo Frame

I had this very old, plane black photo frame from days in my wall unit and was planning to up-cycle it with some quilling. This being my first one, made a simple design which I loved after putting all the hard work. Will try few more of these so that I can gift my near and dear ones . Hand-made gifts do add a special touch than those bought directly from the market. Hope you like it.

Looks Good. Doesn't it?

Quilled Bookmarks..

Me and my friend Gayatri are planning for an exhibition of quilled  and other crafty stuff at our apartment clubhouse. So, we are in a process of making quilled dolls, cards, bookmarks, kundan rangolis, envelopes etc for the same . We were left with paper strips  after using sheets for some other projects. So, just thought of using these for bookmarks. These are the pics of few bookmarks that I have made.

Just thought of writing some quotes on the space left .

Hand Glove Craft

It's been long since I posted anything on my blog. I was out of town..., at my mom's place. It was a fun trip for a long 10 days. Spent most of my time chatting n relishing MOM-Made stuff. Nothing's better than eating stuff made by your mom. I have one of my sister staying in the same city. So, spent time with her and my cute little nieces.
One of my nieces bought an old hand- glove and asked me if I could make something out of it so that she could play with it. My mom being a knitting expert had lots of wool in stock. So, just came up with an idea...and made this for my niece; Surily...She just loved it!

Pretty faces. Aren't they?

Ready for the show!!!
